Every month in the Gallery is exciting, and June is no exception! We are delighted to welcome Elishea, @pattern_of_shores to The Bay Gallery!![]()

Elishea makes ceramic jewellery and homeware, drawing inspiration from the places she has travelled and their coastlines, as well as living in New Zealand for three years, she has an eye for the colours and textures you find along the shore.![]()

Lately working with Nerikomi, a Japanese technique layering different coloured porcelains together to create marbled patterns; a slow, careful process with results however that feel organic and unpredictable, the swirling patterns, reminders of cliffs, tides and natural details. The tension between order and chaos runs through Elishea's work, each piece connecting back to somewhere visited or something noticed, whether that's lichen on a rock or the pattern a wave leaves behind![]()
