As early as age six, Alison showed a fascination for mosaics. Taken each year by her family to visit Blackpool Tower Circus, the entrance to the Tower had Eight panels of larger than life mosaic panels of circus animals that glinted in the daylight – their surfaces refracting and acting like mirrors. Her mother, also interested in Roman mosaics, researched ‘animals in Roman mosaics’ and made mosaics at the family home.![]()

Although most people may know Alison for her watercolours; her mosaics designs still start with a watercolour, but she can express herself more successfully capitalising on the kinetic element and giving the mosaic life.![]()
